Artist Statement

My goal is to create more diverse content in the realm of Fantasy Fiction. It is not often that we as an audience see a protagonist or cast that is majority Black, Plus-sized, Disabled, and/or Queer, in the Fantasy genre and I want to explore those themes as far as they can go and then some. I believe a lot of fantasy-related works, while great and visually intriguing, are still very much mainly focused on Eurocentric themes and Medieval in nature and culture. In terms of representation, it fails in that regard, and as an artist who creates work for Black people, especially for those who are queer, plus-sized, disabled, or in any other minority category, it is my mission to make sure they are represented in media just like their white counterparts.
